Q. My lips often dry out during the winter months, leading to pealing and cracking. If I first apply a lip gloss or chap stick, my lipstick gets very greasy and sticky. Any suggestions?
A. Many cosmetic companys try to sell you a pre-lipstick conditioner with vitamin moisturizer to go with their lipstick. In developing our lipstick, we have eliminated the need for pre-lipstick by adding natural moisturizers such as aloe vera to our lipstick formulations. We also added antioxidant vitamin E in order to protect the lips from damaging free radicals, another cause of skin breakdown such as pealing and cracking.

Q. I want to update my look for Fall, but I don't have a lot of money. How can I do this?
A. For an instant update to your last season's tops and jacket add two neutral colored skirts, one that is cut below the knee and the other either pencil straight, or a 50's midcalf full or pleated. Any cashmere top or sweater is hot for this season. You can get an old sweater set a makeover by adding a fake fur collar. Another must have is a simple knit dress that can be dressed up or down with accessories. An antique shawl found at a second hand stores can look very feminine and romantic with a long skirt. A 3/4 length wrap jacket will be a great mate for your old trousers and skirts.

Q. Even though my closet is full, I struggle each day to find something suitable to wear. Sometimes I change my clothes 2 or 3 time before I leave for work. Help!
A. Clean out and organize your closet. Toss out clothes that do not flatter your coloring and figure. If you have not worn a piece in 24 months, its time to get rid of it. Organize your clothes by grouping tops and bottoms together, by colors. This will make it easier for you to see and pull mix and match combinations. If you want to get more mileage from your wardrobe, buy garments in colors and patterns that will coordinate with the clothes in your closet. Try and select your outfit and accessories the night before to save time and stress in the morning.

Q. Gray appears to be a popular color this Fall. Most grays makes my yellowish skintone look sick and clash with my copper hair. How can I best incorporate gray into my fall wardrobe?
A. There are many shades of gray. With your warm skintone and hair coloring, it is best to select a warm gray with a tinge of yellow, brown or green. These colors are most often found in the darker grays. Use gray as a neutral background color next to a stronger or brighter accent color. For example a warm taupe gray turtleneck top with matching colored trousers can look terrific with a warm tomato red jacket. The warm red color is the main color we will see next to your skintone and hair color. You can always wear a new trend color if you understand which graduation and value of that hue color matches your skintone and hair color.

Q. I just turned 45 and my eyelids have started to droop. I have noticed that light colored eye shadow make the drooping more obvious. How should I adjust my makeup to avoid this?
A. Light colored eyeshadow is used as a highlighter or as a base.on the eye lid. Wherever a light colored eyeshadow is place it will bring that area of your eye forward because it is reflective. A dark color eyshadow will absorb light and contour the area that is applied. Therefore, you should apply a dark color on the droopy part of your eyelid. You can apply the light color as a base from the eye lash to the eye brow and then add a dark color such as a dark brown from the outer corner of your eye lid and wing it up above the drooping area to create a lift.
