The Institute launched its new cosmetics lines into Japan in June 1998 at an elegant showroom in the Ginza, in the heart of Tokyo. With the assistance of several image consultant graduates of Donna Fujii's Tokyo school, the Institute provided makeup and skin care consultations to enthusiastic participants. As a part of the show, one of the Institute's image graduates displayed her own hand-painted kimono in color combinations corresponding to the Donna Fujii Color System. Also, internationally known artist Fumi Ukai of Berkeley, Calif., showed her exquisite line of hand-crafted jewelry made of antique art pieces.

In September 1998, Donna was in Washington, D.C. to provide image and style advice to the 1998 Fellows of the Asian Pacific American Woman's Leadership Institute. While in our nation's capitol, she also managed to participate in some other activities with the Fellows, including a White House briefing on issues affecting women of color.

During Sweeps Week in early October 1998, Donna did image makeovers for her clients, the news anchors and reporters at KMEX-TV Channel 41 (San Francisco). If you were tuned into Channel 41's news programs, perhaps you noticed a difference in the news staff's image. By the way, Channel 41's Spanish language news program is rated number one in the entire country.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Donna appeared as a speaker at the US-Japan Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The annual event features Japanese art, culture, food, and martial arts, and was attended by 50,000 people this year. The Institute exhibited its cosmetic and color analysis products and consultations and met lots of new friends and customers.

October was a great month to see Donna's most current advice in major publications. Glamour magazine featured Donna's sage advice in their Fashion Tips article on how much is too much accessories in the office. For those seeking their first job, read Donna's A. Magazine article, "Power Dressing", which shows men and women of three income levels how to build their first working wardrobe.

The Chinese edition of Donna's best-selling book, Color With Style, has been well received in China and we look forward to visiting our many readers there in the future.
